Tone check
“You ALWAYS change plans last minute” may come across as blaming. Try: “Can we confirm Friday plans by Wednesday next time?”
Sound familiar?
Your free app started charging
AppClose ended its free plan on January 1, 2026. TalkingParents followed on March 30. Families who relied on them were told to pay up or leave.
And now you both pay
Most co-parenting apps charge each parent separately, so a family pays twice for one conversation.
Your ex won't pay, so nothing works
When one parent refuses to subscribe, communication stalls and the record has gaps right when you need it.
One family, one bill
Stop paying twice for one conversation.
With CalmHandoff, one parent subscribes and the whole family is covered. Your co-parent gets every feature of your plan for free, so a refusal to pay can't hold you back.
What a family pays per year
Example based on AppClose's published in-app price of $8.99 per parent per month (checked September 2026). Other apps' prices vary and may change.

Less back-and-forth. Fewer fights. A record you can trust.
Messages on the record
Every message is timestamped and can't be edited or deleted by anyone, including us.
Shared calendar
Handoffs, school events and appointments in one place. Build your custody schedule once and it repeats.
Expenses without the arguments
Log costs, apply your agreed split, request reimbursement and see a running balance.
Kids' info in one place
Doctors, school contacts, allergies, sizes. No more texting to ask for the pediatrician's number.
Records anyone can verify
Exports carry a verification code. Anyone can check that nothing was changed or removed.
AI tone check & Message Shield
Get a calmer rewrite before you send, and see hostile messages softened into the logistics first.
Calls without sharing your number
Audio and video calls between homes and with the kids. Recorded with transcripts when you need it.
Handoffs you can prove
Check in with GPS at pickups and drop-offs and see on-time history for both parents.
Moments from both homes
A private photo feed of the kids: soccer games, recitals, first days of school, seen by both parents.
Records you don't have to defend
Anyone can check that nothing was changed.
Every message and change is chained to the one before it with a cryptographic fingerprint. Edit or remove one entry and the chain breaks, visibly. Share an export and anyone can confirm it's complete and untouched on our public verification page.
Only a court decides what evidence is admitted. We make your records easy to trust.

Questions parents ask us
Is there really a free plan? For how long?+
Yes, and it isn't a trial. Messaging on the record, a shared calendar, and your full history are free for both parents, with no end date. We make money when families choose Family or Family Pro, not by selling data or showing ads.
Does my co-parent have to pay?+
No. On every plan your co-parent joins for free. When one parent subscribes, the whole family gets the upgrade, so you're never stuck waiting for your ex to pay.
What happens if the parent who pays cancels?+
The other parent is notified right away and can take over the subscription in one tap before it ends. If nobody does, the family moves to Free. Messages keep working, and the full history stays available to both parents.
Are the records admissible in court?+
Only a judge decides what's admitted as evidence, and no app can promise that. What CalmHandoff gives you is records that are easy to trust: messages can't be edited or deleted, each entry is linked to the one before it with a cryptographic fingerprint, and anyone, including the other side's lawyer, can check an export for tampering on our verification page. Ask your attorney how records are handled in your court.
Why no monthly billing?+
Co-parenting isn't a month-to-month thing. Billing every 6 or 12 months keeps prices lower for both of you and avoids a surprise charge landing in the middle of a hard month. You can turn off renewal anytime.
I'm switching from AppClose or TalkingParents. What about my old messages?+
Download your message history from your current app before your access changes, and keep that file somewhere safe. Your new CalmHandoff record starts the day you both join, and everything from then on is on the record.
Is it safe if there's a history of abuse?+
We designed for it. Location sharing is off unless you turn it on, your address and phone number are never shown to your co-parent, and Family Pro's Message Shield can soften hostile incoming messages so you see the logistics first. If you're in danger, contact local emergency services or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
